Nashville, Tenn. – Over the years, Bluegrass mainstay Robert Hale has gained attention for his world-class musicianship, performing with countless bands and collaborating with some of the biggest artists in the world. All of that inspiration is on full display with his brand new solo single “A Place Where I Belong.” It’s the lead release from Hale’s next Pinecastle Records project, and is available for download/streaming HERE.
“This is one of three songs I wrote the same week during the height of COVID-19,” explains Robert Hale. “The other 2 were recorded on the current Wildfire project. This song really came to life in the studio with the help of the great musicians on this track.”
On “A Place Where I Belong,” it sees the singer/songwriter returning to his roots. The original tune is straight-ahead Bluegrass, with lyrics penned solely by the West Virginia native. He also enlisted some very talented musicians to assist including Jason Davis pickin’ the banjo, Chris Davis performing mandolin, Kameron Keller on bass and Nathan Aldridge playing fiddle. The world renowned guitarist also showcases his powerful vocals on the track. It’s the first solo release by Hale since his critically-acclaimed 2020 Blue Haze project.
Robert Hale is currently in the studio finishing up the full-length project, set for release at a later date. He made the most out of 2022 with a full album alongside Wildfire. The project titled Quiet Country Town went on to become a staple on Bluegrass radio. It charted multiple hits including “Ride The Train,” “Quiet Country Town” and “What Would Your Memories Do” featuring 6-time IBMA “Female Vocalist of the Year” Dale Ann Bradley. Hale looks to capitalize on that momentum through 2023 as he gears up for even more surprises.
Robert Hale first broke onto the scene performing locally at the age of nine in West Virginia alongside his father Clayton’s band, who performed weekly on a television show airing on WOAY in the 1970s. A couple of years later, Hale was invited to perform at the legendary Grand Ole Opry as a guest of the iconic BIll Monroe. As time progressed, the singer/songwriter would go on to play in multiple critically-acclaimed bands like JD Crowe, Eddie Adcock, LiveWire, Wildfire, and the Allstars of Bluegrass. He even caught the attention of Country legend Dolly Parton, who invited the multi-instrumentalist to collaborate on two of her previous recordings.
