Nashville, Tenn. – Critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter Robert Hale is excited for the release of his brand new Bluegrass single, “I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water.” The hard-driving tune serves as the latest release from the West Virginia native’s next album, coming in 2024 via Pinecastle Records. “I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water” is a song that may sound familiar to some Country fans, as it was originally released in 1965 by the legendary Stonewall Jackson. On the new reinvigorated version, Hale takes it to a new level by invoking a traditional meets modern Bluegrass twist, perfectly capturing the track’s clever lyrics in the process. The single holds significant importance to the world renowned guitarist, as it was one he would frequently listen to and perform alongside his father growing up. Over the years it’s been recorded by an array of different artists including Elvis, Charley Crockett, George Thorogood and many others. The recording serves as the follow-up to the previous single, “A Place Where I Belong.”

Robert Hale had humble early beginnings in the music business. He first broke onto the scene performing locally at the age of nine in West Virginia alongside his father Clayton Hale’s band. Clayton performed weekly on a television show airing on WOAY in the 1970s. A couple of years later, Robert was invited to perform at the legendary Grand Ole Opry as a guest of the iconic Bill Monroe at the age of 11. As time progressed, the hitmaker would go on to play in multiple critically-acclaimed bands like JD Crowe, Eddie Adcock, LiveWire, Wildfire, and the Allstars of Bluegrass. He even caught the attention of Country legend Dolly Parton, who invited the multi-instrumentalist to collaborate on two of her previous recordings.
