Nashville, Tenn. – Bluegrass powerhouse group Wilson Banjo Co. just dropped the emotionally charged new single, “Water,” available now. It serves as the lead single from their next album, which they’re currently in the studio working on. The song is a mid-tempo anthem that blends a steady, driving banjo groove with heartfelt lyrics and soul-stirring vocals – staying true to the group’s signature edge and captivating artistry. Fans can download or stream the track on all digital platforms HERE.

“‘Water’ is such a powerful message and the band packs a fierce punch supporting Andrew’s soulful and emotional vocal delivery,” says founding member Steve Wilson. “We knew when we heard this demo that we had to record it because of the lyrical meaning in today’s society, but also because the music is very cohesive with our sound. It’s a cry for help, a prayer and a call for unity. We hope you enjoy it.”

Written by Joie Scott and Sidney Friedman, “Water” speaks to the universal human need for connection and harmony, using its title as a metaphor for how we all come from different places but share the same essential needs in the end. Featuring Andrew Crawford on lead vocals and guitar, the track is built around Wilson’s masterful banjo work, and showcases the band’s unique lineup: Jaime Carter (bass), Jason Fraley (mandolin), Adam Bachman (resonator guitar) and BrandiColt (background vocals), joined by special guest Melanie Wilson (background vocals). This release continues the group’s momentum following the success of their Lonely As It Gets EP and reinforces their evolving, dynamic sound.

“Water’ is truly remarkable! We went crazy over this recording,” exclaimed songwriter Joie Scott. “The track, the vocals, the mix… it’s perfect. I recently attended the Wilson Banjo Co. show at The Station Inn in Nashville and they played a rough mix for us on a phone backstage that night – but hearing it finished and on regular speakers was very exciting! Wilson Banjo Co. made our song so very special.”

Wilson Banjo Co. has carved out a name for themselves with hard-hitting performances, tight musicianship and unmistakable grit. Their most recent project, Lonely As It Gets, released earlier this year via Pinecastle Records, has been a standout on the Roots Music Report Contemporary Bluegrass Album Chart, spending four weeks at No. 1 and 16 weeks in the Top 5 (currently No. 2). Their single “If You Don’t Climb the Mountain” is currently No. 1 on the Bluegrass Top 50 and Contemporary Bluegrass Song Charts for the third consecutive week. Additional tracks from the EP – “Black Wedding Dress,” “It Always Rains When I’m Lonesome,” and the title track have all reached the Top 5 as well, with “Rains” currently holding the No. 2 spot.
