The song delivers an uplifting message that is rooted in tradition, while wrapped in the band’s signature blend of drive, warmth and emotional authenticity. Founding member Steve Wilson shares, “‘Are you feeling like a stranger… kinda like you don’t fit in?’ That lyric hit me hard the first time I heard ‘Heaven Is Your Hometown.’ I felt such a strong personal connection to this song and I really think others will too.”
Written by Mitch Townley and Andrew Scott Wills, the track speaks to the universal feeling of longing for a place of peace, belonging and reunion. With lyrics that offer comfort and hope, “Heaven Is Your Hometown” blends a classic Bluegrass drive with uplifting, faith-anchored imagery. The recording features Cal Mathews on lead vocals, with harmony vocals by Steve Wilson and Melanie Wilson. Instrumental credits include Steve Wilson (banjo), Jason Fraley (mandolin), Richard Bennett (guitar), Glen Crain (resonator guitar), Leona (fiddle) and Jaime Carter (bass).
