Project Features the Empowering New Single “If You Don’t Climb the Mountain”

Nashville, Tenn. – Chart-topping Bluegrass group Wilson Banjo Co. is celebrating their tenth anniversary of making music with the release of their brand-new EP, Lonely As It Gets. Available now on all digital and streaming platforms, the collection includes five new recordings. This release highlights the band’s fresh lineup and dynamic evolution while staying true to their signature sound. Fans can download and/or stream the full project HERE.

Lonely As It Gets showcases the band’s unique brand of contemporary Bluegrass, blended with a compelling combination of storytelling and musicianship. On full display is the group’s new formation, which is led by banjo extraordinaire Steve Wilson, joined by Jaime Carter (bass and harmony vocals), Andrew Crawford (lead vocals and guitar), Brandi Colt (lead vocals) and Adam Bachman (resonator guitar). They are accompanied by an impressive lineup of guest musicians, including Darren Nicholson (mandolin), Adam Plott (percussion) and Kim Fox (harmony vocals), who help add richness and variety to the project. Lonely As It Gets highlights the band’s sonic depth and creative growth, featuring songs penned by notable writers such as Rick Lang, Larry Cordle, Rebecca Lynn Howard and more (see full track listing below).

The next single from the EP will be the hard-hitting “If You Don’t Climb the Mountain.” It encapsulates the spirit of perseverance, with lyrics that emphasize overcoming challenges to achieve dreams. Written by Jeff Hovis and Rick Lang, the song has already begun to make waves after being played on SiriusXM’s Bluegrass Junction. It also marks the band’s first single to feature lead vocals from Andrew Crawford. The track follows the success of the lead single, “Black Wedding Dress,” written by Avrim Topel, a haunting tale of loss and mystery sung by Brand Colt, which has already captivated fans.

‘“If You Don’t Climb the Mountain’ is a powerful anthem that Rick Lang brought to us and we were instantly inspired by the lyrics and the dynamic groove. It truly sets the tone for the 10th Anniversary of Wilson Banjo Co.,” says Steve Wilson “My wife and I gave up everything completely stable in our lives to follow this bluegrass dream ten years ago and never looked back. We don’t do it for fame and fortune, but for the love of the music and creation, fulfillment in the journey and, we do hope to make enough folks happy that we can pay the bills and continue to climb our mountain.”

He adds, “We are strong believers in being a captain of our own destiny and not just ‘following the leader’ or ‘working for the man,’ for as long as the good Lord permits us. We knew this was the perfect song to debut Andrew Crawford’s tenacious, gravely tone as a new lead singer with Wilson Banjo Co. and he absolutely crushed it along with the entire band driving the arrangement from start to finish. We couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out and hope it inspires you too!”
