“Kentucky Highway” was written by Williamson Branch patriarch Kevin Williamson. The lyrics behind the song convey a message of returning home with a must-hear nostalgic twist that details the journeys often taken in life. Singing lead vocals is IBMA “Momentum Vocalist of the Year” winner Melody Williamson Keyes, who is joined by fellow WB members and sisters Kadence Williamson and Caroline Williamson, alongsideparents Kevin and Debbie Williamson.
The single serves as the group’s first mainstream release since 2019. Since that time, they’ve ventured into different Bluegrass sub-genres, releasing their critically acclaimed 2021 all-Gospel project Heritage & Hope along with the holiday collection Very Merry Christmas last year. In a way, they’re returning to their roots, with a more mature sound that is sure to catch the listener’s attention. A key role in the band’s successful growth is attributed to their one-of-a-kind stage presence, which has captured fans’ attention. Their energetic and heartfelt performances have struck a chord, leading them to over 450K loyal followers on Facebook alone.
