The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America (SPBGMA) held its 41st Annual Bluegrass Music Awards this past weekend. Pinecastle artists The Farm Hands and Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road each came up with big wins in some of the premier categories. Tim Graves was inducted into the organization’s Preservation Hall of Greats, was awarded Dobro Performer of the Year for the 10th time, as well as his band, The Farm Hands, being named Entertaining Group of the year. Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road won Song of the Year for their #1 hit “That’s Kentucky,” and bandleader Jordan won Female Vocalist of the Year (Traditional).
