Nashville, Tenn. – Grammy winner and reigning IBMA Guitar Player of the Year Trey Hensley just released a new single “One White Line at a Time,” featuring Country legend and Grand Ole Opry member Steve Wariner. The tune showcases a more Country-leaning sound, with a driving Americana edge. Fans can download and/or stream the full song HERE.

Trey Hensley says, “’One White Line’ started as a lot of songs I have been a part of have—comparing road stories. Rob Ickes and I had the chance to write with one of our heroes, Steve Wariner, and this song was the first one we wrote together. It quickly became one of my favorite songs, and it was an honor to have Steve play and sing on this track! This is either take 1 or 2 of the recording—everything just fell into place. The groove feels very much like an old semi-truck coming down the highway, counting down the miles until they are home. I always felt a kinship to truck drivers as a musician—I think our paths are similar. We get to see all these parts of the world from a windshield…but at the end of the day, there’s no place like home.”

Co-written by Trey Hensley, Steve Wariner and Rob Ickes, “One White Line at a Time” is rooted in strong storytelling and authentic musicianship. The song features Wariner on vocals alongside Hensley, and delivers a steady, highway-like groove that underlines its themes of travel, distance and the pull of home. Wariner has long been an inspiration for Hensley, and is one of only three living musicians to be designated a Certified Guitar Player by Chet Atkins. The single is released alongside continued momentum for Hensley’s lead single “Can’t Outrun The Blues,” which has spent the last two weeks at No. 1 on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart, marking Trey’s first solo chart-topper on the radio survey. It was also the most played song of November, rising to the top spot on the monthly chart as well. The new single arrives on the heels of Hensley announcing his signature guitar with Taylor Guitars. The Trey Hensley Gold Label 510e was designed to showcase his defining tone with a deeper dreadnought body, premium tonewoods, V-Class bracing, and his preferred Nickel Bronze strings.

Trey Hensley first gained widespread attention as one-half of the award-winning duo Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley and has since established himself as a singular voice across Bluegrass, Americana, Folk, and Country. Hensley’s upcoming full-length album, Can’t Outrun the Blues, is set for release on March 6, 2026, and promises a star-studded lineup: in addition to the Steve Wariner collaboration, the record will also feature more special guests.

Trey kicked off 2025 with a GRAMMY win as part of Taj Mahal’s Swingin’ Live at the Church in Tulsa before being awarded with his second IBMA Guitar Player of the Year award in September, and his playing and artistry continues to draw praise across the music world. With more than 400,000 combined social media followers, Trey’s audience continues to grow as he readies the full project.
