Single Featured on Forthcoming Album ‘Skin and Bone’ – Out October 24

Nashville, Tenn. – Tidalwave Road is roaring into fall with their hard-hitting new single, “Not Ok, My Brother,” available today on all digital and streaming platforms (listen HERE). The uptempo track gives listeners another taste of the band’s highly anticipated debut album Skin and Bone, set for release on October 24 (pre-save it HERE) via Pinecastle Records. Produced by Steve Wilson, the song continues building momentum for one of Bluegrass music’s hottest new rising acts.

Written by the band’s lead vocalist and banjo player Ben Parker, “Not Ok, My Brother” is a radio-friendly and uplifting song that celebrates hard work and living life to the fullest. With its timeless message wrapped in down-home lyrics, the single captures the spirit of a life well lived, where “advice is the only thing I’ve left to give” and no regrets remain. Instrumental credits include: Ben Parker (lead vocals, banjo), Carlie Parker (mandolin, harmony vocals), Daniel Parker (bass) and Robert Sulfridge (guitar).

The full Skin and Bone album will feature 10 total recordings that highlight Tidalwave Road’s distinctive sound. Among them are the first two singles, “Low Down & Lonesome” (written by Rick Lang and Jeff Daugherty) and “Black Smoke Annie” (written by Ben Parker). Both tracks quickly gained traction at radio, earning widespread praise for their strong songwriting and powerful performances. Each single climbed into the Top Five of the Roots Music Report Contemporary Bluegrass Song Chart, with “Low Down & Lonesome” also reaching No. 1 on the Top 50 Kentucky Song Chart. Together, these songs have set the stage for Skin and Bone to be one of the most talked-about Bluegrass debuts of 2025.

For the project, Tidalwave Road teamed up with several acclaimed songwriters. Highlights include “This Ol’ Place Is Home To Me” penned by David Stewart, the title track “Skin and Bone” co-written by Rick Lang and J Tony Rackley, and a reimagined version of “He Took Your Place,” originally recorded by Flatt & Scruggs.
