Nashville, Tenn. – Rising Bluegrass band TidalwaveRoad is excited to release their brand-new single “Black Smoke Annie,” officially available today. The high-octane track gives listeners another powerful glimpse into the group’s forthcoming full-length album, arriving later this year. Written by Ben Parker, the band’s lead vocalist and banjo player, “Black Smoke Annie” is an original tune that barrels forward with gritty drive and unstoppable energy. With a fresh, hard-driving sound rooted in tradition, the song tells the story of a bold and fiery woman who’s impossible to forget—blazing down the road and never looking back. It features Tidalwave Road members Ben Parker on lead vocals and banjo, Carlie Parker on mandolin and harmony vocals, Daniel Parker performing upright bass and Robert Sulfridge playing guitar. The track was produced by studio veteran Steve Wilson of Wilson Banjo Co.
The single follows the momentum of Tidalwave Road’s lead single, “Low Down & Lonesome,” which showcased the group’s bluesy, emotionally raw side. It has spent several weeks on the Roots Music Report Contemporary Bluegrass Song Chart, and is currently No. 1 on theTop 50 Kentucky Song Chart. While that song leaned into heartbreak, “Black Smoke Annie” shows off a wild and untamed spirit. The group has been in the studio hard at work on their debut full-length Pinecastle Records project. It will continue that journey, blending modern energy with deep traditional roots. Bluegrass enthusiasts can expect to hear catchy tunes, all centered around the band’s unique and edgy sound.
