Nashville, Tenn. – The wait is over! TidalwaveRoad’s debut full-length album Skin and Bone is officially out now on all digital and streaming platforms. The 10-song collection spotlights the Kentucky-based group’s raw, straight-ahead Bluegrass sound with a distinctive edge that sets them apart. The project is filled with grit, heart and authenticity that fans of both traditional and contemporary Bluegrass will appreciate. Bluegrass enthusiasts can stream, download or purchase the full album HERE.
Hailing from the hills of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Tidalwave Road is a family-led band rooted deeply in Appalachian tradition yet unafraid to carve their own musical path. The group features Ben Parker (banjo, vocals), Carlie Parker (mandolin, vocals), Daniel Parker (bass) and Robert Sulfridge (guitar). On Skin and Bone, they strike the perfect balance between honoring their roots and pushing forward with a fresh, modern energy.
The latest single is “Not Ok, My Brother,” written by Ben Parker. The emotionally charged track delivers a powerful message wrapped in Tidalwave Road’s signature sound, blending haunting harmonies with driving banjo and guitar. It follows the success of “Black Smoke Annie,” which climbed to No. 2 on the Roots Music Report Contemporary Bluegrass Song Chart, and the lead single “Low Down & Lonesome,” which reached the Top Five. Together, the singles have built strong momentum for Skin and Bone, introducing listeners to the band’s heartfelt and hard-hitting approach.
The album includes songs penned by acclaimed writers such as Rick Lang, David Stewart, J. Tony Rackley and more. Other highlights include the poignant “This Ol’ Place Is Home To Me,” the title track “Skin and Bone,” and a reimagined take on the Flatt & Scruggs classic “He Took Your Place.” Produced, mixed and mastered by Steve Wilson, the album delivers a cohesive sound that feels both timeless and innovative.
Tidalwave Road’s music has already earned glowing praise from industry publications. Bluegrass Today raved, “They play that Kentucky grass with the grit and groove for which the region is known, and are building up their fanbase with every show.” Ballyhoo Magazine noted, “These Kentucky boys have something special—something that feels as old as the hills but fresh as the morning dew,” while Fame Magazine declared, “Tidalwave Road proves that they’re not just another Bluegrass band; they’re storytellers, craftsmen, and, most importantly, torchbearers for the kind of music that speaks to the soul.” With Skin and Bone, the band solidifies their reputation as one of the most promising new acts in Bluegrass.
