Nashville, Tenn. – Bluegrass supergroup Southern Legacy has released their brand new Pinecastle Records single, “Bill From Isonville,” available now on all digital retailers and streaming platforms (listen HERE). Penned by band member Don Rigsby, the heartfelt original is the group’s second release and follows their chart-topping debut in 2025. With its driving bluegrass energy and deeply personal story, the track offers listeners a joyful and moving tribute to a life well lived.
“I wrote this song as a tribute to my dear father Bill Rigsby. Portraying a genuine good soul with rural country ethics, he loved everybody,” says Don Rigsby. “This is the embodiment of his hard-working, neighborly, loving character. Written by Don Rigsby, the track is a heartfelt reminder of the people and traditions that shape who we are. It arrives as the follow-up to Southern Legacy’s debut single, “The Hills of Carter County,” which soared to No. 1 on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart, marking the band’s first chart-topping single since forming.
Southern Legacy brings together five of the most respected voices in bluegrass: Josh Williams, Don Rigsby, Ron Block, Steve Thomas, and Mike Anglin. Each member has built an acclaimed career in the genre, earning GRAMMY recognition, IBMA honors, and decades of respect as instrumentalists, vocalists, songwriters and producers. Together, the group boasts more than 200 years of combined experience in bluegrass music.
