Paisley Celebrates IBMA Win, Second Month at No. 1 in Bluegrass Unlimited, Plus Upcoming Feature in Vintage Guitar Magazine
Nashville, Tenn. – To say that 2021 has been a good year for Danny Paisley would be an understatement. After recently being named the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) “Male Vocalist of the Year,” the singer/songwriter is continuing to build upon that momentum by announcing the next single from his critically-acclaimed project Bluegrass Troubadour. “Date With An Angel” will serve as the next release from the album, available via Pinecastle Records. Fans can download and stream it HERE.
“Brink Brinkman wrote about a beautiful love story that withstands the tests of time,” said Danny Paisley. “That journey from youth to old age. It’s the kind of song I love to sing! I knew the moment I heard it that I wanted to record it.”
“Date With An Angel” features powerful lyrics that detail a love story through the ages. It starts by describing a teenager on his first date with his future wife. As the song progresses, it goes on to tell how the story grows throughout the years. The depiction is on full display in the creative video for the track. With a unique twist, it includes Danny alongside his son and member of The Southern Grass, Ryan Paisley, who plays a younger version of his 3-time “Male Vocalist of the Year” father. It was originally premiered by The Boot, who gave fans the exclusive first watch.
Paisley is also celebrating the current No. 1 song on the Bluegrass Unlimited chart with “Blink of an Eye,” which has been in the top spot for the past two months. The Bluegrass Troubadour collection also continues to charge ahead as well, currently at No. 2 on the album chart. The project has also peaked at No. 1 on Roots Music Report’s Contemporary Bluegrass Album Chart.
The critical praise for the album also continues to pour in. “From start to finish, the new collection is rooted in tradition, but with an approach that looks optimistically into the future,” says Medium.com / Authority Magazine. Folk Alley agrees, saying “This is deep Appalachian bluegrass, so far back in the tradition that it reflects the actual roots of most of today’s country music.” Other features include Thrive Global, The Bluegrass Situation and many more! Paisley will also be featured in the November issue of Vintage Guitar Magazine.
