Nashville, Tenn. – Pinecastle Records is revealing the newest single from the compilation project, A Dream Is A Wish. The recording “When You Wish Upon a Star” featuring Dennis Parker and Sarah Logan will serve as the latest release from the larger-than-life album. In addition to the single, it includes a catalog of hits performed Bluegrass, Americana and Roots style with a combination of guest vocalists and instrumentals on 10 total recordings. The full collection is available for download and streaming HERE.
“When You Wish Upon A Star” is one of the songs selected and arranged by Tony Wray, who handled all creative aspects of the album. The song dates all the way back to 1940 when it was first released as a part of the hit Disney film “Pinocchio.” It was written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington, who brought the track to life while also winning an Academy Award. The latest Bluegrass cut puts a unique spin on the classic ballad, delivering a never-before approach. It also features instrumentation from Tim Crouch, who joins Logan, Parker and Wray.
The full A Dream Is A Wish album also includes vocals by top artists like Dale Ann Bradley, Jim Denman, Roe Family Singers and more, plus guest instrumentalists including Survivorman star Les Stroud. By putting a new twist on some of the biggest tracks spanning multiple decades, the collection accomplishes the task of staying true to the originals. Bluegrass fans were treated to the lead single “The Lord Is Good To Me” last year along with “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.”
