Nightflyer Takes ‘Flight’ With New Album Featuring Current Single “Ride” Released via Pinecastle Records
Nashville, Tenn. – Bluegrass band Nightflyer has turned countless heads over the years with their diverse traditional sound, and now the group is back with their third official album, Flight. Featuring 12 new recordings, the project marks the critically-acclaimed band’s first release via Pinecastle Records. Fans can purchase and stream Flight HERE.
“This record was a lot of fun to make! I really think the boys outdid themselves,” says Nightflyer’s Rick Hayes. “We believe there is something on there for everyone, and are very excited for the attention it has already received before its official release. We thank Pinecastle for getting it out to the DJs and are thrilled to be working with them.” The current single is the track, “Ride.” Written by Paula Breedlove, Brad Davis and Darren Beachley, the lyrics talk about conversations that take place during long drives, detailing all of the memories that are made along the way. “Ride” recently made its debut on Bluegrass Today’s Weekly Airplay Chart, storming its way into the Top 20, while continuing to climb. Flight features a unique track listing of 12 different recordings, all giving each band member a chance to shine throughout the album. Key moments include the lead single, “Lightning Rod” which picked up a great deal of momentum throughout 2018. Another interesting take is Nightflyer’s version of Hank Williams Sr’s “A House of Gold.” The slower anthem includes a combination of Williams’ blues vocals, along with the band’s one-of-a-kind instrumentation. The California Bluegrass Association agrees, stating that the band “…shows a cohesive, polished band with fine and varied vocals, crisp instrumentation and an ability to choose songs with substance and meaning.” Named in honor of Tony Rice’s song and album of the same name, Nightflyer is based in southwest Ohio, where they have many genre influences. Fans can learn more about Nightflyer by visiting their official website here, where they’ll also be able to purchase a physical copy of Flight, check upcoming news stories, tour dates and more. They have already begun leaving their mark, with Ron Kodish of Smoked Country Jam saying, “When you think of the qualities it takes for a band to reach star status it is easy to see why Nightflyer is moving to the forefront of the bluegrass world. Having five superbly talented musicians, there is nothing Nightflyer can’t play.” Flight Track Listing: # # #
