Nashville, Tenn. – Rising Bluegrass band Merle Monroe is excited to announce the next single from their critically-acclaimed album, Back To The Country. Their version of “Movin’ On” will serve as the new radio single for the project. It includes their fresh Bluegrass/Americana take on Haggard’s famous hit, which the Country Standard Time says enabled Merle Monroe to “create the backbone for an unrelenting country-bluegrass journey.” Music enthusiasts can download and stream the full album HERE.

Originally made famous by the Okie from Muskogee when released in 1975, the song went on to top the country charts. Prior to its release, Merle Monroe’s unique take on the track has already begun to garner airplay. After its first week of release, the anthem debuted at No. 1 on Roots Music Report’s ‘Traditional Bluegrass Song’ chart in June. The critically-acclaimed group looks to carry on the momentum from their previous single, “Dad” which became their first Top Ten hit on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart. Expanding upon their sound, Vents Magazine saluted the band saying “they’re staying true to their roots and delivering a unique project.”

Since forming and releasing their lead single earlier this year, founding members Tim Raybon and Daniel Grindstaff have quickly made a mark in Bluegrass, Americana, Folk and authentic Country music circles. The dynamic band has already charted multiple songs on the Gospel charts. Their Tim Raybon written song “Blessed City” has reached another market, storming its way to No. 4 on Bluegrass Today’s ‘Gospel Weekly Airplay Chart,’ while the song “He Will Roll You Over The Tide” has also hit the Top Ten.

“America owes a debt of gratitude to Merle Haggard and Bill Monroe, the quintessential icons of America’s music of the 20th century,” says Tim Raybon. “Our mission is to help keep their music alive and honor them with their legacy of songs they have given to us and to pass it along to the next generation.” Daniel Grindstaff adds, “Thank you to everyone playing and requesting our new music – the support is very humbling. We look forward to seeing you all down the road as Merle Monroe keeps Movin On!”
