Full Length Project Set For Release in Early 2026

Nashville, Tenn. – Award-winning guitarist and singer/songwriter Jim Hurst has unveiled his brand new single, “I’m Leavin’.” The upbeat track is available now on all digital and streaming platforms via Pinecastle Records (listen HERE). Written by Casey Penn and Jack Shannon, the song serves as an anthem of freedom and moving on. It’s the latest single from Hurst’s forthcoming full-length album Travels & Time, set for release on February 7, 2026.

“Life, careers, and relationships have ups and downs, and yet our realization sometimes alters our paths. When the door opens to a new perspective, it helps if we have the courage to make the change. I love Casey and Jack’s take on it!” shares Hurst.

With “I’m Leavin’,” Penn and Shannon deliver a song that blends Bluegrass and Folk influences, perfectly suited to Hurst’s laid-back style. The single is bright and catchy, powered by Jim’s world-class guitar playing and smooth vocals. He is joined by an all-star cast of musicians, including Beth Lawrence (bass and high baritone vocal), Matt Wingate (mandolin), Chris Wade (banjo) and Christian Wade (fiddle). Together, they create a lively sound that captures the spirit of moving forward with confidence and freedom.

The upcoming album Travels & Time is set for release on February 7th via Pinecastle Records. The 13-track collection will showcase a mixture of brand-new originals, old favorites and unique spins on classics made famous by other artists over the years. The first single, “One More Lonesome Train,” hit the Top Ten of the Bluegrass Today charts. The follow-up, a twist on the Doc & Merle Watson-penned classic “Southbound” also climbed into the Top Ten of the Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart and spent 12 weeks on Roots Music Report’s Contemporary Bluegrass Song Chart. Other standouts on the project include the upbeat opening cut “Mile Marker 203” (co-written by Hurst), plus a stripped-down version of the traditional tune “Reuben’s Train.” The project concludes with the chilling ballad “Last Song I Sang For Mother,” which has an Acoustic meets Gospel twist.

Jim Hurst is widely celebrated in the Bluegrass community, known for his remarkable musicianship and innovative guitar picking.
