Guest Musicians on New Single Include Alan Bibey, Christian Ward, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, Michael Gaisbacher and Steve Wilson
Nashville, Tenn. – With the release of Jim Hurst’s latest album From The Ground Up, the singer/songwriter has continued to expand upon his signature sound. Over the years his laid-back style has gained him critical-acclaim with multiple appearances at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and even been recognized by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) where he’s been awarded “Guitar Player of the Year” on multiple occasions. He’s charging on with the brand new single, “Sunnyside Garden.”
Written by Jack Shannon, “Sunnyside Garden” is the lead cut from the latest album. It begins by telling a story about a farmer looking back on a life well lived, but with an even bigger story paying tribute to farmers, ranchers, veterans and beyond. Hurst is joined by some very good friends who add to the musician credits lineup including Alan Bibey, Christian Ward, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, Michael Gaisbacher and Steve Wilson.
Roots Music Report gave the full album a five-star review, specifically complimenting the new single saying, “Hurst’s relaxed, affable baritone conveys plenty of charisma and imagery in songs that tell a story.” Standout cuts from the collection include the previous singles “Back To The One” and “Weary Old Highway” featuring Darin & Brooke Aldridge. Other highlights are the Bluegrass/Gospel infused cuts “It Started With Love” and “Nothin’ To Do But Pray.” Hurst penned four of the songs from the project, while being joined by an impressive list of guest songwriters. It all comes together to create a one-of-a-kind experience that only Jim Hurst is capable of delivering with his unique and artistic approach.
