Flashback’s new album Denver Snow will be available tomorrow (5/4).

“Moonshine,” the first single from the album, has already been charting on Bluegrass Today’s Grassicana Chart.
“It is rare to find any project that you can say you will play more than 4 or 5 cuts from on the radio…,” said Mike Gorrell from the Picks n’ Bows Radio Show, “I can safely say nearly every cut on this recording will get airplay on my show. The instrumental work is tight and very well played. The lead vocals are easy to listen to and the harmonies are well blended. It is a very well done project.”The album features lead vocals from Richard Bennett (guitar) and Don Rigsby (mandolin) with Stuart Wyrick (banjo) lending harmony. Curt Chapman holds down the bassline with his rocksteady upright playing.”Flashback will make you nostalgic for the days when Crowe strapped on the five,” said David Morris of Bluegrass Today, “But the band will also leave you eager to peer into the future to see what this talented posse of musicians will come up with next.”

Four band member-written tunes are included. Bennett co-wrote the title track with Shawn Lane and co-wrote “A Rose (From Time to Time)” with Rigsby. Rigsby wrote the gospel tune “We Might Get a Little Loud” and co-wrote “The Letter” with David Adkins.

Flashback was named after the classic 1994 J.D. Crowe album Flashback, on which members of the band recorded while touring with Crowe. The band initially came together for a 20-year reunion tour. Crowe briefly came out of retirement to play tour dates with the band, after which the group so enjoyed their time together that they decided to carry on as Flashback full time.
