Written solely by Loudermilk, “When I Drive Through Cincinnati” is a relatable breakup anthem that explores the lingering emotions tied to places and memories. The song follows a narrator who finds himself flooded with feelings of heartbreak each time he passes through Cincinnati, a city that serves as a reminder of a relationship that once meant everything to him. Through vivid storytelling and heartfelt lyrics, Loudermilk captures the bittersweet reality of revisiting the past and coming to terms with an ending that still leaves a lasting mark.
The group has been steadily releasing music from their upcoming dual album projects, showcasing both sides of their musical identity. On the secular side, recent releases include the high-energy story song “Train Robbery Of The River Bridge” and the lead single “My Picasso,” which charted for multiple months on the Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey. On the Gospel side, the uplifting “Yes We’re Sailing” spent seven weeks in the Top Ten of the Bluegrass Today Weekly Gospel Airplay Chart, while “The Banks of the River” enjoyed an impressive 14-week run in the chart’s Top Ten. Together, the releases have highlighted the band’s versatility, songwriting depth and commitment to delivering authentic Bluegrass music.
A two-time SPBGMA “Bass Fiddle Performer of the Year” Award winner, Edgar Loudermilk has spent more than two decades establishing himself as one of Bluegrass music’s most respected artists. His career includes time with Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Marty Raybon & Full Circle, and seven years performing with Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out before launching the Edgar Loudermilk Band.
