Nashville, Tenn. – Acclaimed Bluegrass singer-songwriter Daryl Mosley has released his brand new single, “One Screen Movie House,” available now on all digital and streaming platforms via Pinecastle Records (Listen HERE). Filled with heartfelt nostalgia and Mosley’s signature storytelling, the new track pays tribute to the magic of simpler times and the small-town movie theaters that once served as gathering places for communities across America. The song is the latest single from Mosley’s upcoming album, Little Moments, due out in August.
“The first job I ever had was working at our local movie theater in Waverly, Tennessee,” says Mosley. “It was a great job for a kid! I loved the smell of the popcorn, the excitement of the crowd, the cartoons, and of course the movies themselves.” He adds, “Once upon a time, those single screen theaters were the crown jewel of almost every small town. This song is a celebration of those special venues that once brought Hollywood to little towns all across America.”
Written by Mosley and inspired by his own lived experiences growing up in rural Tennessee, “One Screen Movie House” serves as both a tribute to the past and a celebration of the adventures and memories made with friends during the good old days. The recording showcases Daryl Mosley on lead vocals, joined by Danny Roberts on mandolin, Tony Wray on guitar, Jamie Harper on fiddle and Jaelee Roberts providing harmony vocals. The release follows Mosley’s previous single, “She Knew It All,” which spent multiple weeks on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart and continues climbing the Bluegrass Unlimited chart after appearing for a second consecutive month in May while jumping five spots. It has gained significant traction on terrestrial radio, as well as outlets including Banjo Radio and SiriusXM’s Bluegrass Junction.
Widely regarded as a “songwriter’s songwriter,” Daryl Mosley has built a celebrated career around crafting thoughtful songs rooted in small-town life, faith, family and everyday experiences. Over the course of more than three decades he’s earned four Songwriter of the Year honors, penned more than twenty #1 hits, and performed with acclaimed groups including New Tradition, The Osborne Brothers and The Farm Hands.
