Nashville, Tenn. – Reigning IBMA “Male Vocalist of the Year” Danny Paisley is writing one final chapter in the release of his critically-acclaimed album, Bluegrass Troubadour. The song “May I Sleep In Your Barn Tonight Mister” will serve as the last single released from the project. The upbeat song was written by Charlie Poole, and an official video has been filmed which will come out in the upcoming weeks. Fans can listen to the full song HERE.
The announcement comes as Paisley celebrates multiple accomplishments recently. The singer is excited to be on the final ballot of the upcoming IBMA Awards. In total they are up for FOUR awards including “Male Vocalist of the I think ” (Danny Paisley), “Album of the Year” (Bluegrass Troubadour), “Song of the Year” (“Blink of an Eye” written by Robert Amos) and “Collaborative Recording of the Year” (“One by One” with Dale Ann Bradley). The winners will be revealed in late September at the IBMA Awards as part of the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass.
“May I Sleep In Your Barn Tonight” showcases the band’s fast-paced style throughout. The main message behind the song is to give to others in need when you’re able. It was the closing track on the project, which was released in the summer of 2021. It follows the No. 1 smash single “Blink of an Eye,” plus “I Never Was Too Much” and “Date With An Angel.”
