Bradley Is a Five-Time Winner of this Prestigious Award

Dale Ann Bradley is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year for the International Bluegrass Music Awards, scheduled for October 1 in Raleigh, N.C. The awards announcement was made today in Nashville.

“It is such an honor to be nominated again by the IBMA membership for Female Vocalist of the Year,” Bradley says. “When I look at the talented women that are nominated along with me, it makes me even more humbled and grateful to be in a business that has such tremendous talent. And congratulations to all the award nominees.”

Bradley is a five-time winner of this prestigious award in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012. She also took awards in 2001, 2006 and 2009 for Recorded Event of the Year for {“Follow Me Back to the Fold: A Tribute to Women in Bluegrass,” “Back to the Well” and “Proud to be a Daughter of Bluegrass,” respectively.

Other nominations in the Female Vocalist category are Becky Buller, Claire Lynch, Amanda Smith and Rhonda Vincent.

Band member Phil Leadbetter is nominated for Dobro Player of the Year. Also nominated in that category are Mike Auldridge, Jerry Douglas, Andy Hall and Rob Ickes.

Bradley’s latest album is “Pocket Full of Keys” on PInecastle Records. The lead single, “’Til I Hear It From You,” is a cover of The Gin Blossoms 1990’s hit. She is also garnering airplay for other cuts from the CD, including the gospel favorite, “Sweet Hour of Prayer.”

This has been a great week for the singer, who is also found out that her album “Pocket Full of Keys” was Number One on the Roots Music Report’s Bluegrass Chart the week of August 6.  She is also featured on the cover of the August “Bluegrass Unlimited” magazine.

The IBMA awards are voted on by the professional membership of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), the trade association for the bluegrass music industry. The Awards Show is the highlight of the World of Bluegrass event, presented by Chiesi USA, to be held September 29-October 3 in Raleigh, NC.

The IBMA Awards Show will be broadcast live on SiriusXM Satellite Radio (Bluegrass Junction) and syndicated to more than 300 U.S. markets and 14 foreign networks, thanks to the sponsorship of BMI, Deering Banjos, the International Bluegrass Music Museum and Mountain Home Music Company.

I just came out of the doctor’s office, and was being treated for viral pneumonia, came home, and got a text from banjo player Gena Britt. She said “Congratulations,” and I said “Oh, what for?” and she proceeded to tell me. Among all the feeling bad, that certainly was a lift to my day. (19.7)
