Bradley Currently Nominated for Two IBMA Awards for “Female Vocalist of the Year” and “Gospel Recording of the Year”
Nashville, Tenn. – Dale Ann Bradley is excited to reveal the next radio single from her critically-acclaimed project, Things She Couldn’t Get Over, released earlier this year. The grassy title-track will serve as the next single from the collection, as the 5-time IBMA “Female Vocalist of the Year” prepares to return to the studio for her follow-up.
The tune was written by Bradley and inspired by a girl she knew in high school who suffered from a mental illness, which she explained to Sounds Like Nashville. “She just walked the halls. She wouldn’t stay in class. To sit in a classroom, she could not do that, but they would let her [roam]. They were just wanting to help her get through,” she says of how teachers and school officials tried to accommodate her. “She was funny and she didn’t start nothing, but buddy, if someone started something she would jump in there and defend herself. She just had some obsessive-compulsive things, but she was a good kid. She was a very unusual person with maybe two or three different things going on mentally that really made it hard to treat her.”
American Songwriter summed up the single by stating, “Warm vocals, set by searing instrumentation, paint a poignant picture of a nation divided and those who fall by the wayside in its wake. Detailing a heart-wrenching story, Bradley instills humanity in each face on the side of the highway, commanding further consideration from each of her listeners.” The Digital Journal agrees, saying that the track “showcases her sincere storytelling abilities.”
Despite the challenging times, 2021 has proven to be a career-defining year for Dale Ann Bradley. In addition to being featured in multiple publications like NPR, American Songwriter, The Boot and more, the Kentucky native is also currently a finalist for “Female Vocalist of the Year” and “Gospel Recording of the Year” with “After While” at the upcoming IMBA Awards taking place in Raleigh later this month.
The singer/songwriter is also back on tour in support of the album, where she’ll be performing “Things She Couldn’t Get Over.” To learn more about Dale Ann, check upcoming tour dates, new stories and more, check out her official website www.daleannbradley.com.
