“I’ve lived and raised a family in Kentucky. I’ve seen the beauty of an early morning in the hollers and hills of East Kentucky, and I can say without a doubt, it is one of the prettiest states on earth,” says Davis. “I worked for Larry [Cordle] for five years, and with him being from Kentucky, he could relate to how I feel about our beloved state. While ‘Blue Kentucky Wind’ has never been cut before, Larry has written many other iconic songs like ‘Highway 40 Blues’ by Ricky Skaggs, ‘Don’t Forget to Pray for Me’ by Diamond Rio, and ‘Against the Grain,’ recorded by Garth Brooks. I love Kentucky, and my personal relationship with Larry goes back many years now. I hope you enjoy the time we spent making this song!”

“Blue Kentucky Wind,” written by legendary songwriter Larry Cordle and Leslie Satcher, is a mid-tempo anthem that tells a lonesome breakup story through the lens of Bluegrass tradition. The track is the lead single from Davis’ upcoming full-length project, which is slated for release in 2025. The seasoned musician has been hard at work on follow-up tunes, expected for release at a later date. Fans can expect more heartfelt tracks, accompanied by expert musicianship throughout. Alongside delivering lead vocals and playing mandolin, Davis is accompanied by John Meador on guitar and vocals, Scott Vestal on banjo, Evan Windsor on bass and Jason Barie on fiddle.

With over 25 years of experience in the Bluegrass industry, Chris Davis has performed alongside some of the genre’s most iconic names, including Larry Sparks, Alecia Nugent, Junior Sisk, and The Grascals. He currently performs as a member of Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers and has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry with Diamond Rio. Davis’ deep-rooted connection to Bluegrass stems from his early days playing in his family band, The Davis Brothers.
