“The song was inspired by Teddi’s Mamaw Alberta Shannon,” says Bobby Cyrus. “She would teach all the children how to do the hoedown as she called it. She would get them in a circle and show them how to do it and then have one at a time jump in the circle and showcase their moves. It’s been a family staple now for years at every holiday gathering!”
